Northwesterners, a select 16-voice choral ensemble with rhythm section, fills a major public relations role for the Music Department and the university.  Principal repertoire includes vocal jazz, pop, and contemporary Christian arrangements, but the group also performs standard choral literature, and participates in Music Department concerts of major works.

Northwesterners perform frequently in church concerts across the Northwest and in the Boise area, and in a wide variety of venues, including civic clubs, community events, and campus events.  Formed in the 1960's, the ensemble has literally traveled the world over the past 50 years, with tours to Europe, Great Britain, Spain, Africa, South America, and Australia/New Zealand, Germany and Austria.  The Northwesterners are directed by Dr. Philip Miller.
